Okay, to further expound on this idea, does anyone else use different brands of strings on one bass? My Ibanez BTB has the stock NYXL for B string, E A and D are Elixirs, and my G is an Ernie Ball slinky cobalt. I normally run Elixirs, but I found the tapered B Elixir I did not like the tone...

Thanks! Yep, I think that's more or less the only option for extra long scale. Never tried taperwound previously, but it sounds good. How do you like your Portamento, btw? Kinda been obsessing about one lately. (GAS?) Lovely Ibanez collection!
