The push pull on the mec is for eq and eq bypass, not active vs passive, so battery is required in both cases with active pickups. It's always active.

Yes I was talking about the original run in 2001. Bolt on only with an ovangkol neck and block. You did say "2002", hence the confusion. The 2022 masterbuilt beside it is indeed a wenge NT.

Do you have any pics or links? I haven't come across any info about NT versions outside the 2022 Masterbuilt ones.

Yes, just got the original from 2001. It's a bolt on, they didn't make any NTs, but that is a ovangkol block in the middle.

Bit of impulse purchase. Not too often these come up for sale and this one specifically has been for sale on this site minimum twice and I'm probably at least the fifth owner. It could use some work namely replacing those awful knobs and looking into original gold hardware. It's interesting...

Well it only took me 3 months to sit down and install this the way I wanted without excessive cable lengths all over the place. Even though it doesn't really matter, I have an Ibanez with a packed cavity that is just annoying to work in if needed. I haven't had much time with it but I'm happy...

There's five of them on reverb right now. It's not exactly a rare finish. But whatever you do to it, take the time to do it well. It'll be hard to get that finish smooth enough so your paint job looks good.
