I thend to agree, I only have a Fender P-Bass and it is a joy to play. Just a very good bass overall, without being overly spectacular in any one area.

Like anything else, it's what you do with it. If you are just going to follow the chords it can be boring, but coming up with interesting melodies displaying good techniques is what makes a bassist stand out
