    Orange terror bass enclosure idea

hit the nail on the head with that one. I’m always looking for projects to keep my hands busy when they aren’t on a fretboard so why not jazz up something that I’ll be gigging with regularly and have to look at all the time? Hell I just spent the last 2 weeks sanding my Hamer 4string explorer...

    Portland, OR speaker recone recommendations?

The 70’s 15” cerwin Vegas I was so jazzed about turned out to be a little on the fragile side! The band was covering a Motörhead song (iron horse) and I was told to turn up, and turn up I did. Cranked the gain on my terror bass and switched to my mudbucker. Not 30 seconds after counting off, a...

    Orange terror bass enclosure idea

Oh I’m not necessarily trying to ‘match’ the peavey cab, I just wanted a cool enclosure for the head itself, not like a combo or anything. Think I got a solid plan of attack as far as design, doing stained padauk with beveled edges and visible dove tail joints. Unless it ends up being too much...

    Orange terror bass owners!

That’s some really helpful info thank you! Any yeah I’m definitely not used to this thing yet as we are still in our honey moon phase. Before this I ran acoustics almost exclusively, which is like going from a doctors office to the strip club bathroom in terms of tone. I’ll do some more fiddling...

    Orange terror bass enclosure idea

Yeah I have to get clever about taking the vents into consideration. There’s a side mounted fan that I can see but outside of the face plate on that amp, it’s essentially all vented which is why I’m wary about enclosing it. I’m sure orange put all those slots on for a reason. It’d just give it a...

    Orange terror bass enclosure idea

Was gonna ask this in my last post but it ended up pretty long. I really dig the aesthetics of the terror bass but it looks a little too much like an artsy toaster on top of my peavey 2x15. I had the idea last night to build a rounded corner wooden enclosure out of some beautiful red padauk I...

    Orange terror bass owners!

Well I’m the proud owner of a brand spankin’ new terror bass. Gave her a test drive last night at our New Years jam and I have some mixed feelings. First and foremost I’m a man of simplicity, a total sucker for an amp with a bare bones interface. I don’t need a 100 band eq to tweak on between...

Anyone got specs/info on these vintage cerwin Vegas?

And thanks for the tip analogeezer! When I redid the wires all I had at my disposal were ratty old shop gloves but they did the trick

Anyone got specs/info on these vintage cerwin Vegas?

FINALLY. thanks for the info. Guess I’m just jazzed because I’ve never played through anything pre 1990. So are all the ER series marketed as PA speakers? It’s amazing how little info is out there on old CV’s aside from the fact that Duane allman dug the er123’s.

Anyone got specs/info on these vintage cerwin Vegas?

Yeah I shot em a message, I know peavey has specs on everything they’ve ever produced so I’m hoping it’s the same for CV. Wasn’t getting any output on one of the drivers so I went ahead and resoldered all the connections since it looked like Stevie wonder was in there with an iron, put...

Anyone got specs/info on these vintage cerwin Vegas?

Howdy! Long time lurker and first time poster here. Figured this would be my best bet to get some info on these speakers. Yesterday I picked up an old Peavey 2x15 for $180, at that price I was totally fine with opening the back and seeing any ol’ stock peavey drivers. Much to my surprise, after...
