Thank you so much! It's something, after all.

I'm just wondering why, despite all the positive reviews for Lawrence/Wilde P-46, I can't find a single decent demonstration of it on YouTube or any properly recorded tracks with it — unlike pretty much all the other so-called boutique pickups. Strange thing!

Which P bass looks / sounds the best

Fender looks the best and also sounds the best in clip 2. I believe clip 1 is Pedulla and clip 3 - Moollon.

Vintage Owners Club (the bass brand, not all older basses)

Thank you, it is very good instrument indeed! I can't wait to try it out in real life. So far I only find two imperfections: the gloss finish (maybe!) can be a problem and the A string might need a retainer. Or maybe a 3-string retainer? Easy solutions. And I have to choose a pickup between...

Vintage Owners Club (the bass brand, not all older basses)

New member here with a V4 Reissued in blue :) I needed a decent p bass and couldn't wait to get a Squier Classic Vibe grom Thomann, so I bought this one from a nearby store. The good thing is that the body is alder, not poplar like the body of the bass next to it, which seemed frighteningly...

    What material for neck shimming?

    Actually yes :)

    What material for neck shimming?

I prefer to play with some discomfort but not to put a shim (regardless of the material), because always feel a difference in the sound, not in a good way, and it drives me crazy

    Need help with 1966 P-Bass

May I ask two ridiculous questions: How it sounds? How it feels?

First Gen Squier VM for 400usd. Should I buy it

I've had both basses: the Amber VM and the 1 first generation MIC CV. Actually I sold the Indonesian one to buy the Chinese one, and that turned out to be a big mistake. The Amber was more Fenderish, with great neck and sound, the CV neck was something between precision and jazz, nothing to do...

Precision Bass Pickup: Lollar vs FCS. Need some advice.

Sometimes we forget the simple decisions and in this sense: did you try adjusting the pickup height?

I know this question has been asked a few times and the answers are subjective, but can someone share what is the exact pickup height of his/her's Lawrence P-46? How much for each string? It would be very useful as a starting point. Thank you!

Help identify what is original on this 70's P-bass

This is the most original shimming solution I've ever seen! It must be lower on the treble side. I wonder what the is the string action? Congratulations, it seems to be a bass with character!

It turned out that the bass is equipped with a 0.1uf capacitor from the 80s. I decided that apparently the German luthiers were thinking in the same direction as Mr. Lawrence and left it. It is a winning move: great sound with tight, articulate and massive lows and bright mids!

The Official Bill Lawrence/Wilde Pickups Club

Hi, I'm gonna install a P-46 into my Musima action bass, a good precision copy from the former East Germany with ash body, maple neck, fingerboard, 250 pots and 0.1uf. AFAIK, the standard for capacitor values in p basses is 0.047. Should I change to the 0.047 or Bill Lawrence have the specifics...

Would you describe how sounded the Fender 63 In your bass, please? Especially compared to CS 62?
