I’m a casual learner of bass guitar, but keep aiming to get better and seek out new opportunities to play.

Fender Kingman SCE. G&L SB-2s (first and second styles) > parallel Gallien-Krueger and Ampeg rigs: 800RB > Neo IV 112 and PF-50T > PF-112HLF. GK PLEX > GK rig. Tech 21 NYC YYZ Shape-Shifter and MP40 pedals > Ampeg rig. These are just the notable ones being used at this time.
Favorite Genres
I’m mainly interested in Canadian rock. I also like some songs in other genres (namely all those covered by members of my two equally–favourite bands, The Tragically Hip and Rush).
Previously Owned Gear
A newer version of the Fender Kingman. A Squier Affinity PJ Precision. An Orange Crush 25 combo amp. A Fender Rumble Studio 40 combo amp. Ampeg SCR-DI and GK PLEX pedals. Tech 21 NYC YYZ and DI-2112 pedals. GK 1001RB amp head. Those are the notable ones only.
G.A.S. List
G&L Matador with MFDs and series/parallel switch(es). G&L L-2500 Series 750 with OMG and K-Mod/SCM. G&L Lynx in red with maple fingerboard. G&L JB MFD. Schecter Stargazer 12 bass. MORTone Instruments 8 string conversion of Guild B-240E acoustic-electric. 8 string electric bass. 12 string acoustic-electric bass. Ampeg SGT-DI pedal. Hiwatt ’The Ox’ pedal. Tech 21 DI-2112 pedal. Ashdown Engineering ABM-RPM-1-JE Bass Pre-Magnifier preamplifier. Ashdown Five 15 combo amp. DigiTech Bass Whammy pedal. Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble pedal.
Influences and Teachers
Influences: Definitely Gord Sinclair of The Tragically Hip and Geddy Lee of Rush inspired me to finally start learning bass. Also a big fan of John Entwistle of The Who. I really like Les Claypool of Primus and Colin Edwin, formerly of Porcupine Tree, as well. Tim Starace of YYNOT and Kevin Comeau of Crown Lands are also really good.

Teachers: I eventually managed to find a bass and guitar instructor who is really good for my learning style through the Pickering Long & McQuade.
Hobbies and Interests
I’m also learning guitar–proper. I’ve been working on both for a few years now. I’ve started listening to a lot of different musical artists over the past year or so, whereas before it was almost all The Tragically Hip and/or Rush, or nothing. Music has only become a big passion of mine relatively recently in life. But now it is in a huge way. Outside of music, I’m interested in linguistics.
