    Are bass amps obsolete?

I always insist on micing my amp. I want to have control over how I sound. And the audio guys that usually use digital stuff can make your bass crazy loud and actually nasty. It just has to sit in the mix, not be muddy, that's what kickdrum is for! :p I can't wait until I can afford to build my...

What Kind Of Band Are You In?

70s hard rock original band. (50% originals + 25% jamming)/25% covers. We've got about an hour long set, but our two last concerts took 3,5 and 4,5 hours of playing, playing the same songs again, jamming and doing 2 minutes covers.

What’s the cheapest bass you’ve been/are amazed with?

Yamaha BBG4. Got that for about 175 US$ and I've got to say - it rocks. It has really thin neck, so for someone with smaller hands like mine it's really comfy, especially when I was beginning my bass journey. I will never sell that bass, just a piece of wood you really want to keep. When it...

Awesome lot of information, thank you very much! I think I will look for either a condenser or ribbon, really not sure! And when it comes to gigging, I don't need additional monitors anyway, so that wouldn't be that much of a problem! Anyway, thanks a lot!

Didn't I say I want something unique? :D If it's rare, damn, I'm even more willing to try that way of doing stuff!

Is that Sterling worth 300$ for me, though?

That's actaully funny. I'd expect from Heritage version at least something else than the normal version. That was written on the website. Guess you can't trust nowadays websites.

Yup. Right now I'm thinking about Lauten 220, Sterling ST170 and MXL R144 HE. I'm nearly sure I'd rather something omnidirectional, mostly because we're limited to 8 tracks, so the more depth we'll get in the mix the better. In my opinion, at least.

So we're on the same page. I think so too.

You know, I believe that you need to get the mic to get anything mic related. So I will stick with the right (or at least my) order of buying things. Also, I'm not trying to create a studio, I just want a microphone to use for gigs and studio sessions!

Yeah, I know it's harsh. Think of it like me, however. In Poland, 1$ is worth about 3.6PLN. And we earn about 1500 - 2000 PLN (Lowest possible income). And I don't even work because I go to school and I will have to pay for the mic just from gigging around. So I've set a really low budget mostly...
