GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

@ultra60, It's in the "shop" now being looked at; not exactly sure when it'll be done but I'll post once I get it back, Thanks. ... (side note) in the meantime I'm playing through my ZOOM BN3 and using headphones (which I've NEVER done before in the ? 7 years since I've had it 😄), but I really...

What is the coolest tuner on the market?

Just like my ties, I have a clip on; simple, easy and inexpensive 😄

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Yeah, I HAVE to, otherwise I can't play and enjoy it, 'cause I'm gonna have to play through my Peavey practice amp; Huge difference.😄

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Yeah, So that's very first "issue" I had months ago; the only knob that did that (VERY LOUD) crackling, popping, static noise was/is the Master volume (on the far right); So loud I thought I may pop the speakers; AND, very sensitive to the touch. I never sprayed any tuner cleaner or anything...

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

😄 🤷🏾‍♂️ I figured it's just wear and tear - even though it's never been gigged and barely even moved from the spot it currently sits - which is atop my 2x10 and 1x15 cabs. Hey, mechanical things go bad over time even if you take good care of them; I don't think there are/were any design flaws...

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Hey Thanks, I'm the original owner, I bought it brand new (Sweetwater) about ? 7 years ago; it's never been dropped or damaged in any way, no spills, nothing, it's never even left my bedroom once, I'm the one and only one that's ever used/played through this amp; It really is a Fantastic amp...

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Hey, Yeah like I stated earlier (you probably didn't see it), but I don't have any patch cables around so I tried it with a regular (10 ft.) cable and it didn't work for me. I called an authorized GK repair shop near me and the voice message said there's a $75 down payment and the service is...

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Hey Thanks, Someone else recommended that; I don't have any patch cables so I used a regular cable, and unless it HAS TO BE a patch cable, it didn't work for me. Did you ever have it looked at by a qualified tech? or Are you still using the patch cable? Thanks.

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Yeah, That's one of the first things I did - change the battery, then I bought new audio cables as well, 'not the problem, Thanks man, Much Appreciated.

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

Thanks, I recently started disconnecting the speaker cabs and running the signal out of the rear of the amp into an interface and using (Sony 7506) headphones for recording videos and the crackling, static-y, distorted damaged speaker sound is so bad that I can't even enjoy playing through it...

GK (Fusion 550) head making busted speaker sounds (cab./speakers are fine)

My GK head is making farty, busted speaker sounds and I'm certain my cab. speakers are fine; (it's a hybrid head, so it has tubes in it). I only play in my "mancave"/bedroom and NEVER play (the master vol.) past the 10:00 position and the gain usually sits around the 11:00 position (I don't play...

Used Amp head (20 yrs. old) or New with similar qualities?

Yeah, I'll probably sell my GK and put the money towards a Bassman, probably the 500; though I wish I could keep both, but 'can't afford that in retirement. Thanks, 'probably saved me some headaches.
