In my opinion, the Musicman. I play fast melodic punk rock and it was a tough call for me choosing between the P bass and the Musicman but I chose the Musicman and have never looked back. Good luck with your search :)

Well, I havent had chance to use either of those Sansamp's. In the brief experiment I had with overdrive I didnt quite get what I wanted, if the SVT can get me close to that sound then thats close enough for me to take it from there.

I didnt realize there were so many pedals on the market, my search has definitely widened.
My budget would be about $200; I have a solid state Ashdown amp at the moment so at the point where the cost of that and pedal would be pretty close to the price of tube amp I would probably consider just trading it in and buying a tube amp.
I'm actually considering buying a new amp. So, in order to get the richest sound; do you think the best thing would be to buy a tube amp and drive it hard as opposed to buying an overdrive pedal?
