It's a 4-string. The crack goes from the tuner to the edge of the headstock and partially around the side; looks like it goes down about halfway of the headstock thickness. Attached is a picture of the side. Should I ask for some money back?

So uhh... I picked up a Bubinga 4-string a few weeks ago that was listed on reverb (you can go back a few pages and see it). The bass had a few dings and dents, nothing major, and the head stock head some dings and the plastic overlay was chipped in a few spots. Nothing too outrageous for a bass...

I guess we all have "custom shop" basses. Seriously? When I almost bought it (before talkbass saved my butt), it was supposedly in Maryland...although I think it was actually in Texas still...unless they shipped to Maryland and back to Texas. I wonder how many Guitar Centers have attempted to...

I'll have to try the pure blues. Now that I have a great bass, I want to find "my" strings. The cirrus scale length seems to put a lot of tension on the strings. Mine sounds extremely punchy, but the strings feel a little "stiff."

How do the Pure Blues sound compared to Sunbeams? I want to have my Cirrus set-up and I'm looking at different strings to try.

Kind of funny how we're all watching the same basses. I had Greg's Cirrus on my watch list and it's funny to see it pop up here.

Looks like the bunk Guitar Center Cirrus 6 was purchased. There was a decent 4 string Cirrus on the GC site that got picked up as well. Wonder how long it'll be until it's reposted

Loving my Cirrus so far. The neck pickup position or the neck pickup with a little bit of the bridge pickup mixed in produces my favorite tones. The bridge pickup with the bass boosted, or slapping with both pickups and the mids cut are notable contenders too. I do plan on replacing the knobs...

Got my redwood Cirrus 6 today, courtesy of daddymactx! It's an awesome instrument; I'm fully on the Peavey Party Bus now. This is my first 6 string and I'm already having a blast with chord voicing. Overall I think this bass found a good home. Now I just need the 4 and 5 string versions to live...
