    Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

Did you have to extend the leads of the neck pickup? Getting it down to the tone push/pull pot means that its too tight to fit in the body route. Hate to extend them but might have to.

    Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

I had one original screw and found an exact match (albeit stainless steel, which looks good on this bass since there are multiple metal finishes on the bridge. That said the originals are chrome or zinc coated) at the local hardware store. Now in the process of wiring it with push/pull pots...

    Peavey T-40 Club Part 2

Has anyone had to replace bridge mounting screws? Or source some when building a T-40 from parts? I am missing those screw and need replacements... thanks!

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

I think it helped a bit, but wasn't the silver bullet I was hoping. I work on my own amps and have had quite a few over the years and have also come to realize recapping is rarely as necessary the internet might have you believe. I did it on this amp since the hum was similar to the sound of bad...

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

The hiss is actually less of a problem than the 60 cycle hum that persisted after I recapped it. It's not terrible, just a bit irksome if I'm using for tracking in studio. So, while I realize it might not sound like the JBL (I love the JBL but I'm OK with it sounding different as long as it...

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

I think we likely have the same cab! Has a Horizontal port behind the grill. I think its probably a 68 or 69 and came stock with D140F. If so, that's great to know the legends work well in there. It looks like this one:

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

Thanks for the input everyone! It sounds like I might be fine if I'm careful but the safest bet would be a more robust older JBL or entirely modern speaker so I don't have to worry about it. If I was going the modern route are there any standout options that would play nicely with the Sunn cab...

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

Whoops--yeah a typo. It's 100w. So probably not safe especially if other are using my rig frequently...

60s Sunn 1x15 with JBL D140F/ Ampeg V-4B power rating question

Hi all, I have a 60s Sunn 1x15 cab that I love with a vintage JBL D140f in it. I tour with this cab and a GK RB400 and have been pleased with the results but for various reasons want to purchase a Ampeg V-4B reissue tube head. (The RB is pretty noisy even after a recap, and the line out sounds...
