Amp head recommendations with low-Z balanced input for tuba/electric bass player?

The actual best mic we have found is a pro37 small diaphragm condenser, although an SM57 or Audix D4 does the trick as well.

Amp head recommendations with low-Z balanced input for tuba/electric bass player?

Yes, I realize that there are different aftermarket preamps and stuff I could use. I have a art tube preamp that gets the job done as well, but we are looking to solve for simplicity.

Amp head recommendations with low-Z balanced input for tuba/electric bass player?

I have a friend that plays in a couple of groups with me, sometimes playing electric bass and sometimes sousaphone (tuba). For the sousaphone we put a dynamic mic in the bell. I think it would be awesome it there was a bass head with a decent preamp that would let us take that balanced XLR...

ground issues with tapewound strings on a Eastwood classic?

I put a set of rotosound tapewounds on my Eastwood classic 4, which is their starfire clone. I seem to have ground issues, so there is some buzz unless I touching the strings with my hand. I did seem to have a suspect ground connection, so I took off the tailpiece, scruffed up the underside...

    Double Bass project advice

I recently picked up a couple project upright basses from a neighbor. One is a 60s German import, solid top (in 3 pieces right now), solid back, and about half of one of the sides in unusable condition. It does have a nice neck with an ebony fingerboard. No peg, bridge, tailpiece, tuners, or...

    Broken tuner "tab"

Sounds reasonable. its still a tight fit in the slot. as long as we dont keep knocking it off the stand on to the concrete floor we should be ok!

    Broken tuner "tab"

J bass took a spill and this tuner handle tab popped out. Can I solder it back in with the iron I use for electronics?

SOLD 1973 P bass. Rosewood fingerboard. natural finish.

Fret wear is reasonable, although they could use a polish. Truss rod turns well, i just had my bass guy (one of the original lakeland techs) spend a couple minutes with it to adjust the truss rod and bridge.

SOLD 1973 P bass. Rosewood fingerboard. natural finish.

50 year old Fender Precision bass. Blonde finished swamp-ash body with a rosewood fingerboard. plays well up and down the neck, sounds great! has non-original Seymour Duncan APJ-1 Pro Active pickups. These are somewhat collectable on their own. I am selling on the low end of market value because...

How far back to mount an adjustable bridge

Putting together a J bass from various parts, the body came predrilled for a bridge, but when I put a tape on it 34" from the fretboard edge of the nut comes to the very end of where the saddles will adjust out to. Im wondering if I should be in a 1/4" in or so in order to have some adjustment...

    new-to-me squire P-bass detective work

Hey folks, I recently purchased a 2004 Indonesian Squire Affinity P bass (Cort factory I believe) from what I thought was the original owner. I popped off the pickguard and it appears that he volume control is closest to the jack and the tone control is in front, which is backwards from every...

changing the scale length on an old bass

Hey folks, Thanks for the great feedback. I do not want to put heavier strings on it, seeing how it is for a 12 year old. Unless there is something low-tension besides the rubber band uke bass strings (which I do not think would work with a magnetic pickup.) But I could not find anything like...
