I keep getting talked out of getting a Rickenbacker. Why??

I wanted one because of the history, famous players etc. Then I got to try one and hated it for a lot of reason; feel, tone and well, I think it's UAF but I could have put that aside if I loved it in my hands. The OP needs to try one then make up his mind. You'll likely know pretty quickly once...

Receiving a Bass heavier than advertised

If the seller didn't post a pic of it on a scale, then there was no misrepresentation. You should have asked for it to be weighed, and if the seller didn't or wouldn't, you should have walked away, or suck it up since you bought it. If I was the seller and you returned it because of your...

    New Ibanez Mode series

The only Wayback is Jan 28 this year and also says luminescent. https://web.archive.org/web/20260128181648/https://www.ibanez.com/na/products/detail/mdm1605_1p_01.html My guess is that people have misread luminescent as luminlay and that has just been repeated with no one actually looking at...

    New Ibanez Mode series

Good review and I'm glad you're happy with it. Best of for the tour. I'd be on them to supply the bits that were supposed to be included.

    T-40 pickup selector switch

Can you desolder it from everything and meter the two coils?

Multi Effect on a budget? (EU)

Soran Dual Stomp Lite. There's also a version with an expression / volume pedal for a little more (~$20). Sounds good on the reviews I've heard by YTers I trust, rechargeable battery and NAM. I'm looking at one for a small portable rig, but if it's as good as I hear it is, then it might stop me...

    New Ibanez Mode series

@FirasR thanks for a great review. I agree the poplar burl tops can be hit and miss with my BTB being mainly good and my EHB being so ugly that the original owner sprayed over it - nice for me as I got it really cheap and like the colour. I think where you are in the ME that the neck will likely...

    Beginners bass

As someone who has owned many, many Ibanezes over the years from early MIJ like Musicians and Roadsters to current MII and an MIC I don't agree. I have several SRs, a BTB and an EHB with construction dates 2006 to 23 with another in transit and a GVB36 on order. So, no, the fans aren't...

I keep looking at Aria SB and Kawai basses from the 80's...

I like my Kawais a lot. The FIIB is great, and agree as a former Alembic owner, they're sort of Alembic-ish, especially the terrible ergonomics. I'm not likely to sell it though.

not one but two peavey t-40's

Changing out the bridge would give about the same result for a lot less work. It weighs a bleeping ton. Mine is really pretty and such a great bass. As I'm thinning the herd substantially, it's one of the few 4s I'll keep. PS: @area_man - no pics, no bass.

NBD - EBMM Bongo 6 HS

I also like the Bongo, and 6s. I'd rather the Myung, but with the standard electronics -well, that's not gonna happen. @MrAB4003 enjoy that awful(ly nice) purple beast.

    Headless Club???

I know, I was just being cheeky. Looks like a good design.

    Headless Club???

That would work better with 5 strings...

    Steinberger Club

@ric4682 I'd email EMG with the pics and serial number and see what they say as they're typically informative and helpful. My guess would be that they have uneven sized pole pieces similar to the 40P5 so that the middle string gets even coverage. HBs/SS are P construction.
