I am a student of music at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. I have been playing double bass for almost two and a half years. The school I attend does not have a bass teacher, but it does have a great string teacher who plays violin and viola. Because of this, I take lessons with a bass teacher (listed above) in Kansas City.
I am very interested in both arco and pizzicato playing. I truly love the sounds of both pizz and arco. I love the different sounds that are possible from both approaches.
I recently acquired my first "professional" gig as a section player in the St. Joseph Symphony Orchestra of St. Joseph, MO. I am very excited for the upcoming concert season!

- Favorite Genres
- Honestly, I enjoy many different genres, rather than just saying "Classical, Jazz, etc..". I do have a keen interest in the Flamenco music of Spain as well.
- Gigs and Ensembles
- St. Joseph Symphony Orchestra (St. Joseph, MO)
- Influences and Teachers
- James Albright (teacher and bassist of KC Jazz Orchestra). He has given me much to learn and work on.
Influences: I have found that anyone, bassist or not, can be a great musical influence. I try to find something that I like about the playing/singing of that artist and absorb that idea.
- Hobbies and Interests
- I love to read, especially historical fiction. I am also very interested in cultures. Being a student, I've discovered that cooking is really fun as well!
