I would definitely take that deal. I'd see if you can work them down. Worst case scenario you can get a legitimate american precision bass body for $400 on fenders website and you'll only be at $800 for a crispy american precision.

The preamp on mine is relentless , almost impossible to avoid distortion. I have high action and the pickup is screwed all the way down
