Thanks once again - very informative. I totally agree - sound is completely subjective when it comes to things like this. It's also hard to zero in what different pups sound like in my specific bass. Anyway, I have some pup homework to do - much appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for responding. Basically looking for more of a bottom end / bass sound. I know it's a jazz bass - hindsight. I had an Ibanez ATK300 a long time ago, that had ceramic pick-ups, and loved it. Maybe it's foolish to think my Fender would sound like the Ibanez... Or maybe I just upgrade to...

So I have a MIJ Jazz bass from the early 90s, and it's been beat pen pretty well over the years, so I want to spruce it up. First project is replacing the dented fretless neck with a Fender replacement. Then some other things. Has anyone put ceramic pick-ups in a MIJ Jazz bass? I was wondering...
