I owned a Fender Jazz since 97...I always noticed that the balance was head stock heavy..but I was younger..Now at 63 I recently bought a 2016 P-Bass Elite...The balance for me at least is perfect...The way it is cut away it is very easy to play without fatigue. The short scale compromises...

I have been playing gigs for 30 yrs plus..And the main thing that I know for a fact is every room you play in will have different personality's so as long as you have a good overall sound and ear then son use them....I know some will squirm but I mainly use 97 Jazz deluxe...A Behringer 450watt...
