What about damage to the strings or frets? Is this not eventually gonna wear them out where they are making contact?

Do some rosewood boards possibly have a finish on them? Because I've noticed the spot that looks darker never looks as bright or slight glossy looking as the rest of the board.

Thanks 96, but the spot wasn't darker until I started screwing with it. I can live with it but my OCD is getting the best of me because of the fact that it would have been better if I had just left it alone!!!
