I like "medium jumbos". Hard to say why, but that’s what I got used to. That said, I have an MIJ bass and a vintage Tele guitar with narrow frets, and they both work well enough. But medium jumbo feels like "home" to me

As far as hearing live, the room makes a considerable difference. As far as a recording, as Wasnex said, depends how much of the room sound you record. Meanwhile — recording at Abbey Road, wow :cool:
