    Jet Guitars JJB-300

I believe it is typically Jetguitars to just sell online, also here in Europe. Like Sire and many other of those brands. It is a way to keep the cost down. Design and manufacturing are in separate places, the one mostly in the West and the other in China or Indonesia.

Depends on where you live. In Europe they are for sale in quite a few places. Perhaps write an email to the Jet company and pose your question there?

    G&L Club Part 7

Yet another newb question from The Netherlands this time. I just bought a second hand Tribute SB-2. You can find the SB-2 on the G&L site which is still up. The specs say it has a poplar body, but when I showed it to a friend he thought it was rather heavy. Today I found a video where a young...

Rotosound RS88LD Black Nylon - Are suited for what kind of music?

I tried them on my fretless Jazz Bass. Before I had LaBella black nylons. The E-string is very thick (115) so it hardly fits the nut slot without filing, which I don't like. Unfortunately, these aren’t the right strings for me. They’re very stiff compared to the much thinner LaBellas. I haven’t...

    Pedals, effects and the like...

How about a chorus on a fretless? Sometimes even a little reverb? Can be great when you have a lot of space in the mix like in a balad. For the rest I would not use any effects. They tend to destroy the original tone you went for when you originally chose your particular bass guitar. Just like...

So I'm a high mass bridge convert..

I play the Squier 40th Anniversary Precision Bass Vintage edition. Of course there was always the temptation to want to improve things on the instrument, although I also read encouraging words here on Talkbass from level-headed wise guys (not wiseguys) who advised me to keep my money in my...

Crazy buzz on open A string

I once had a strangely buzzing A-string (La Bella Low Tension Flats). Took it to my luthier and he showed me the string took a 'banana' shape when completely loosened. Our piano tuner told me later that this happens more often with strings. He always checks if there are clockwise or counter...

    Jet Guitars JJB-300

Ofcourse they are Fender copies. But they did some nice variations on the original, like. (in the case of my T-style) a mahogany body with maple cap, locking tuners, body contour (belly cut, arm rest), splittable bridge humbucker etc. Headstock is different, neck and fingerboard are roasted. So...

    Jet Guitars JJB-300

They are designed in Slovenia and manufactured in China. Don’t know about this bass, but I recently bought one of their T-style electric guitars, the JT600. For (as of October 2024) $570 I got a fantastic lightweight T-style of impeccable quality. If these basses are as good go try one!

    Identifying Fender Jazz body

Question was answered by a very friendly guy from Fender Musical Instruments. The body is 'a genuine Mexican Fender body'. All of you thanks for the great feedback and suggestions.

    Identifying Fender Jazz body

Hi folks, here I am again with a little follow-up on my question about identifying my jazz bass body. Does that stamped number 58291 shed any light? Unfortunately the date stamp is partly unreadable.

Thanks again for all this info. I will see a tech to check the sloppy soldering next week.

Here they lay bare... Did not want to pull on the neck p.u. so it still sits inside its cover. Bridge came out by itself.

    Identifying Fender Jazz body

Well there’s a load of nice reactions, thanks! The strings are Tomastik Infelds btw. And a professional setup is on the way, so we’ll see what further improvements could be made. The only real flaw I have noticed up until now is a dull g-string in the middle (around the fourth to seventh...
