That's a leather strap from Azola.keeps the strings straight, damp the vibrations a bit,look's cool though.The tailpiece ajustment is for gut or steel strings,there is a manual for the ball park spec's on the tailpiece.

pictures of the bottom flat disc, left & right. under the last disc's you will see magnets that can be adjusted for tone.Never sit the bridge directly on top of the magnets, this can damage the magnets,also your action will be useless.

You look good,you have the bracket's.I see screws on the plate where it is attached to the brackets Release the tension on the strings and remove the bridge check and see on a flat suface if the brigde stands straight check the feet if they are bent. Check the disc's, there are two or three...

take some pic's of the front, you may have a sink hole. ampeg had a fix for this, a couple of brackets supported the pick up assembaly from sinking.

I curently use an ampeg head SVT 3 PRO USA, full stack set up,top end SVT-410HE USA, bottom SVT-15E vietnam, basses, Ampeg BB4,Azola BB, both strung with spirocore solo. the amp & cabs sound good. I do want to test drive a Gallien-Krueger 800RB :hyper:

Try Clevinger bass,he is in the east bay,makes all types of electric upright's theres one called poquito,maraca's band from cuba play's it. tumbao sounds fat. 23 1/4 inch scale, dought if there is one smaller.
