What is the absolute most bizarre, unusual, odd gig you ever played?

I've told this story before... In the mid-1980s, I was playing a LOT with a rock band in Boston, doing originals & covers. One of the places we played frequently was a bar in Allston called Great Scott. College kids from Boston University and Boston College went there in large numbers. One of...

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

OK, sorry, I get it. I think those were the sessions that Ringo was referring to when he said that he'd wait around forever for "the geniuses" to finish what they were doing, and for them to tell him that he was needed. I believe he learned to play chess during those days. Edit: I confess that I...

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

If you're talking about rockabilly guitar solos, I see your point. But I think George contributed mightily all the way to the end. I do have to say that the amazing "Get Back" documentary suggested that the John/Paul relationship ("brotherly" love, really) was the nucleus that the other two...

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

I watched a fairly recent interview with Paul... when the interviewer started to address the nonsense about Paul being secretly replaced, Paul immediately blurted, "I'm that guy!"

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

One funny social media thing: Sometimes you see people wondering what experts were brought in to play this-or-that instrument, not having a clue about the Beatles' versatility. For example, I believe someone asked who the outside person was playing the guitar on "Blackbird." (It was Paul, of...

All Things Must Beat. Share Anything Beatles!!

I've noticed a nice trend on social media lately: commenters exclaiming about what a brilliant musician Ringo is. It's about f'ing time!

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

Thanks for the suggestion. The BL offered to bring his monitor to last weekend's gig, but I declined... I'd rather not bother him about it if I can solve the problem with a simple cable.

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

    Correct.

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

You're right: I should have identified the gear up front. I apologize for being snippy.

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

OP here with more info: This is the monitor (below). Both the drummer and I have this exact same brand and model. The output jack on the board and the input jack on the monitor are 1/4". The input on the monitor is labeled "line." The cable connecting board to monitor is a guitar cable. I'm not...

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

More complicated than necessary. And, as I said, I use a little powered monitor. Not IEM. But thanks!

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

Just to be 100% clear, I'm not suggesting a Y-cord to *daisychain* two monitors; the monitors would not be connected to each other. They would be connected to one output on the mixer.

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

Yup. These are both powered monitors.

Y-cord from mixer out to two monitors?

This is a dumb question, but here goes... I'm in a situation where the band leader has switched from a monitor to IEM. We use a small mixer, with only two monitor outputs. The drummer and I each have our own monitor, but they are inexpensive, small "hotspot"-style ones, with no line outputs. The...

    Cats on Cabinets

Years ago, I had a cat who liked to sit on my 1x15 cab with wheels while I rolled it around. When I'd come home from a gig at 2:00 or 3:00 AM, he'd greet me at the door and I'd give him a ride around the livingroom. 🥰
