    Loosening nut in the socket

Personally, I'd use just a dot of purple (low strength) loctite or a similar thread lock. No pickguard marring.

Balanced tension strings and vintage (7.25") radius necks query

I just put a set on my CS jazz. Didn't notice any of the issues you are worried about. I did notice a fantastic sound coming from the speaker cab though...

F Bass BN5 What Flatwounds To Use

I've never played the F Bass, but I've tried both on a precision. I gravitate towards the TI's, they sound warmer (to me) and have a growl that's more pleasing to my ear. The LTF's definitely had a nice smooth thump though. So it depends on the sound you're going for; you really can't go wrong.

G&L NBD! And a pickup swap...

I wish I could get another! Scott had this one on his website as a one off and I got lucky that nobody else saw it! I'm pretty sure he'll make you pretty much whatever you want though. If you really want to know, I think he goes into it on the website, either in the "learn" section, Learn Or in...

G&L NBD! And a pickup swap...

I received this beautiful fretless LB-100 at work today (thanks @Trabeen !), and almost didn't make it to quitting time... So got home and plugged it in, and it played beautifully, felt great, and sounded pretty good. But being me, I thought, let's tear apart my brand new to me bass! I...

    Fretless suggestions

If you can find one and it's in the budget, Fender made a fretless PBAC-100 in the 90's. I have a fretted one and it's wonderful with a cafe Walter buffer and TI jazz flats (or Labella LTF). The ergonomics might not be what you're looking for, but the one I have plays and sounds amazing.

List of drop In Bass Pickups for Broncos and Musicmasters

https://www.stonewallpickups.com/store?store-page=Musicmaster-Bass-P90-p591653505 I have a '51 p90 precision and a mudbucker from Scott and they sound fantastic. The precision p90 is clear and articulate but maintains some nice warmth and punch.

    Fretless Simulator?

Just start with your bass out of tune, then you'll get my usual fretless sound!

Just started getting full screen pop up ads. Am I supposed to be getting these as a supporting member?

    Inexpensive files for nut slots?

I've had pretty good luck making small adjustments to the slots using an old set of round wounds. Super cheap! And always the right size.

What is the best fretless bass under $600 for metal?

Not sure how much help I can be with your tone, that's pretty subjective. I would probably string it with rounds or half-rounds to get some bite, but after that it's between you and your music.

What is the best fretless bass under $600 for metal?

I had a SR375EF for a while. It played well and sounded pretty decent, but didn't really bond with it. I've since discovered that 5s and active basses aren't my thing, so that may play a large part... The quality was good (really good for the price), and it was fairly pretty. No experience on...

Double Bass Looking for a loaner bass in New Hampshire for 1 day gig

    ID this bass?

I actually owned one very similar. It truly is 25" scale, and string options are quite limited. It sounded far better than I expected and was great fun for couch noodling, but the tiny scale was somewhat limiting. The hardware was a definite weak point, but wasn't unusable by any stretch. I...
