Well, it was in 1998… so I don’t remember. My suggestion is bring the bass in the gig bag to a golf shop to make sure it fits.

I don't have a Yamaha, but I did own a BSX, similar package, similar dimensions. I found a hardshell golf club case that fit it perfectly. Airlines seem to be used to that type of package, so they don't TRY to break it like they would an instrument. It fit in the case with the gig bag.

They sound great. In a perfect world I would have kept one of them, but no room, and no work meant no more Baby Bass.

This is a good question! The simple answer is, use the rake when you go to a lower adjacent string, because it’s already there! But in the octave example, you’re skipping two strings, and dedicating the first finger to the root and middle to the octave makes it a little easier to do the jump.
