NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

jimfist, thank you for the explanation. I gave it a bit more thought and realised the G5n offers far more for the money, especially since I already have a good set of monitors. On the go, I could make it work with headphones or buy a dedicated portble PA speaker. For the price difference (here...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Guys, I have another question (sorry for another necro-bump :D ) Does anyone have any experience with the Yamaha THR10 and how it might compare to the Zoom G5n? I realize I would lose some (or perhaps, quite a lot) of flexibility and options, if I went with the THR10 - no looper, no foot...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Thank you for the explanation. Like I said, from what I've seen the G5n seems really intuitive to use. Also, SirMjac28, congratulations on your new acquisition :) I for one would be very interested to hear how the G5n compares to the B3n when used with bass.

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Thank you for your answers. I think that it would be worth to spend the extra money and go for the G5n. The price difference isn't that massive. One thing that really annoys me with the GT-1 is that while the unit itself is cheaper, it doesn't come with a power adapter and the original Boss one...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Oh, and another quick question (sorry for borrow-bumping this thread again :P ) Did anyone by chance compare the Zoom G5n with the Boss GT-1, how would they compare (apart from the obvious physical differences :) )? Thanks

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Fair enough. I'll get the G5n and pair it with some studio monitors for reference. If a need for higher volumes will come, I'll get a bigger, more powerful PA speaker. Thanks again for your help :)

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Ah, that's a bit of a bummer. But then again, if the sound is as good as you say, a setup like this could probably replace a more traditional head + cabinet. Also, at the end of the day, for bedroom practice it doesn't matter that much IMO. Right now, I'm thinking of getting those computer...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Interesting, thank you. I never imagined an active speaker + guitar multieffects processor would beat out an actual (albeit cheap) amp. I'd love to try it out but I didn't get the G5n yet (given the whole "is it any good for bass" thing). Regarding active speakers, would you know if the...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

Thank you for your replies. Now if I understand correctly you recommend getting a pair (or just one) of powered monitors and using those in combination with the G5n? This is quite handy, as I'm also in the market for a set of monitors / speakers to use as my computer speakers (I was looking at a...

NPD- Zoom G5n as bass modeller

I'd like to borrow this tread just a bit, as I have a dilemma regarding the G5n. Hope you won't mind :) I'm in the market for a new bass amp (my first). I've only started playing bass a few months ago. Alongside the bass I also play electric guitar (have for around 3 years now). I play as a...
