Fixed it, and it was far easier than I was making it out to be. The soldering was actually really easy. Still have the old crappy pickup, but at least it plays consistantly now.:bassist:

It isn't time I'm short on, it is the starving college kid budget whish is a bit thin at the moment. You are right though, I have no idea how one would even solder the thing back together.

I removed the pickup and determined that the problem seemed to be coming from the joint between the cable and the pickup itself. Upon removing the heat shrink I know nothing more than I did before... There is a small brass receptor on the pickup that the wiring feeds into, and a small bundle...
