IMHO the groups, like Aussie Floyd, work hard and put on a fantastic show. Lots of blood, sweat, and tears goes into their performance. But the bands that actually dress and act like the performers they are portraying have always bugged me. It's creepy.... Just the thoughts of an old bass...

+1 for the Fatfinger .....It does move the dead spots on some of my axes (P-basses) .....it makes them feel more "alive" too.

I absolutely notice a difference between stock Fender bridges and custom bridges such as BadAss, Gotoh, Babicz, etc...

I adjust my strap so that it is at the same length when Im sitting or standing. It never made sense to me that we practice most often sitting down then attempt to play with the bass much lower when we stand. Anyway, a higher strap position allows me to play much better than a low hanging axe.

The ramp is used as a sort of "stop" for your fingers as you play. Billy Sheehan uses his P pups as his "ramp". As you play, your finger slides off the string after plucking it,and the ramp below stops it from "over-travel". This allows you to play aggressive, hard, and yet very fast by limiting...
