Differences in Yamaha SB 500s 800s and 1200s (Yamaha SuperBass)

I'm a big fan of the Yamaha SuperBass 500s that I own. I am wondering what is the exact difference between the 500s, 800s and 1200s? My apologies if this has already been discussed but I did a search and can't find anyone discussing the differences anywhere. Thanks!

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

Oh dear lord, I should have just replied with a PM. This thread was initially started by me months ago for merely asking a question about Aria basses and what was going on with their manufacturing, that was it. It then got hijacked by a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals whose co-workers are...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

Great question! I believe there are some general difference in quality of the basses but I can't say I know the exact specifics other than the Japanses basses do have the old school balanced body. So it could be many different factors. I do know that Aria in general was saying that most of...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

Well I guess you never actually read the question then. If you go back and read my question, it was whether Aria was moving all of its bass production outside of Japan. Actually I even had that as my header! Where in any of your replies did you address this actual question? Sure, you gave an...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

True and it had absolutely nothing to do with my original question. And another thing that nobody has even mentioned yet is resale value. Whether you think that Chinese and Indonesian basses are the greatest of all time, the fact is that the resale value is just not going to be as high as a...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

But then there would be no reason for the COMPANY to even move production to China, Indonesia or Vietnam in the first place right? The cheap labor is obviously due to the fact that the instruments simply are not put together with as much care, they are mass produced and there is little to no...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

OK back to my original question, just talked with someone at Aria's US Distributor, it is true that the SB-1000RI (the re-issue of the SB 1000) is going to move to Korea. He didn't specify when but I assume probably pretty soon. He said that the production of the SB-1000RI production is just...

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

LOL, first off what does that have to do with my original question? Was just asking if they have stopped Japanese manufacturing. Secondly, I believe most experienced musicians would strongly disagree with you, especially regarding basses and guitars made in China.

Is Aria moving all of its bass production to Korea??

Some guy on ebay is selling an SB1000-RI and is making the claim that Aria is not going to make basses in Japan anymore? He is saying that they only made 6 or 7 of the SB reissues in Japan and they are going to move all bass production to Korea, is this true??? If it is true its definitely...

Need Help IDing an Aria Pro SB

Nice, thanks for the info. So far it plays and sounds great! With the "dual sound switch" tou can get a real trebly sound if the switch is up, and when the switch is down you get a much more full tone, like a piano almost, really sounds great with this setting. I'm used to slightly more...

Need Help IDing an Aria Pro SB

Cool thanks very much, is it true that the only difference in the SB-700 and the SBR-60 is that the fact that the SBR-60 has a wider neck and the strings are farther apart? Is there any other differences?

Need Help IDing an Aria Pro SB

What's up, I can't figure out if this is an SB-700 or an SB R-60 or SB R-80. Its serial number is seven digits: 112xxxx, so I believe that this bass was made in 1981. Here are some low res. pics. Any help is very much appreciate, just got this bass today. Its a neck through, passive...
