Did you ever find the rack ears (or specs for 'em)? I'm in the same boat...

I put that hipshot bridge on my 1980 4001 and haven't looked back! The *years* I've struggled with that thing. (Of course, I do have it tucked in a bag in the Ric's case, not that this bass is ever for sale - I bought it new!).
