Ha. If I understand what you mean that is how I play my kid's cello when I goof around on it.

My kid's strings teacher is keeping an eye out for me. Cost is the only thing keeping me away. Trying to find a used one that is structurally sound. Bonus points if it is ugly.

Appreciate hearing your experience. The other people in my house play cello, viola and violin so that is what I would playing with. My Mustang isn't enough without amplification and I'm trying to do more with less electricity.

Thank you for your take. That makes sense. I quite like the sound but also would have a hard time describing it as a bass. May I ask why you think Resonator (while not ideal) might be better? Is it about tone or volume?
