Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

Done that :) I've got a fairly decent tone going now by running the pod's direct outs into my monitor speakers and eqing to match some recorded bass tones. I had to go VERY light on the low end on the pod though. I fear when I plug my cab in it will sound extremely thin. Maybe I just need...

Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

I don't believe that is what I'm doing. Maybe you misunderstood my signal chain? My power amp/cab is connected to the pod's 'live out' which, I believe, does not have cab emulation. The fact that I get a good balanced sound from my cab confirms this. The tonal problem of the nasty low mid hump...

Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

I have had some very good results using impulse response based speaker emulation software. Sure, they aren't quite the real deal but they are close enough to be indistinguishable when in a mix. These line 6 cab emus are WAY off though! I suspect they don't even use impulse responses, at least...

Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

Too true. I suspect someone on the team at line 6 is borderline deaf judging by how far off most of their presets are lol! Still, i'v managed to get some usable tones by just by decimating the low mids.

Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

My cab's colouration sounds ideal to me, it's nice and punchy but is completly lacking the horrible womphy low mid bump that all the cab models seem to have. My signal chain goes bass>wireless>pod>pod live out to cab (set to stack:front which should bypass cab emu) & pod direct outs to pa.

Pod x3 users: do ANY of the cab models sound good?

I've been running my pod rig on gigs for a few months now, and I'm still trying out different amp models. The thing is, I can get a great tone using just the amp models into my cab, but as soon as I add the cab emulation to the di signal the tone going to foh goes badly wrong! On further...

Light, one rack space power amp?

Behringer epq900 in bridged mode is actually surprisingly good! Very cheap too, I paid about £160. And light (4kg) considering it's a class AB not class D amp. Of course, it won't add any additional niceness too the sound but it is very transparent so won't take away anything either.

Just how broken is my overdrive pedal?

I've been using a Boss SD1 ever since it broke. Does the job, but it doesn't have the low end control of the cm-2.

Just how broken is my overdrive pedal?

Yes it can, and it doesn't work that way either.

Just how broken is my overdrive pedal?

Thanks for the suggestion Graykong, unfortunately on his website it currently states "DUE TO ILLNESS I WILL NOT BE TAKING ON ANY REPAIR/MODIFICATION WORK UNTILL FURTHER NOTICE." :( Any other suggestions?

Just how broken is my overdrive pedal?

Ok thanks for the advice I will have a go at that. I was hoping there might be some kind of protection circuit right after the power input but that would be too easy! All the components are surface mount as well! Just in case I have no luck finding the fault, are there any reputable UK pedal...

Just how broken is my overdrive pedal?

Ok, so here's the story: A few years ago I bought a DigiTech hardwire cm-2 overdrive. Sounded lovely and was very happy with it. Unfortunately at the time I was also using a nasty adjustable PSU from maplin which had a reversible polarity plug on it. Of course, frantically trying to plug my...

Would a behringer nu1000dsp have enough power for a Kappalite 3015?

I actually have the waves maxxbass plugin, really don't use it much except on toms. Never on bass, it's just too much. I think I'm gonna take a gamble on the Beringer nu1000dsp, simply cos its so cheap.

Would a behringer nu1000dsp have enough power for a Kappalite 3015?

I'm in the UK, the peaveys are harder to get hold of and more than double the price of the behringer :/
