    Sire Z7 vs Sadowsky MetroExp21 Vintage MJ5

I have both. Z7 is a MM style bass, it sounds clearer (more treb) and not as tight as Stingray, and the MM pickup couldn't be moded to parallel/single/serial mode due to its small wiring space. Sadowsky MJ5 sounds more like a Lakland bass but with 34" scale. You could make it sound like a real...

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

Yeah, I believe 3-5 is enough though, I'll sell most of them in the future. I bought these many mostly because of curiosity.

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

Both, I like 80’s metal, so I bought a lot Charvel, Jackson, Ibanez, BCRich etc. to get their tone. And I found it interesting to see the differences between each brand, so I started to do the collection.

I emailed him many times and get no respond. I wonder...

The bass volume when unplugged to the amp

Thanks Bruce, I do agree with you, I believe wood play a huge role in shaping tone, would you mind to talk some about how to change the stiffness of frame, please?I’m not sure if the connection of neck and body or some hole within the bodywood could help. And if a bass guitar was built in a...

The bass volume when unplugged to the amp

I recently notice that some bass, like sire v7, is very loud when playing without amp/cab, just unplugged. But the bass I built by my own, is about 6 db lower than the sire. I'm curious about how this happen, or what could affect the unplugged volume.
