    I bought one of these Nichimo model kits back in 1969. This is the Guyatone version of the Conrad. Ever since, I'd wanted the real thing!

    Here's the eBay pic. You can see how filthy the finish was. I don't think the seller even knew what he had as it wasn't even listed as a Conrad. An identical Guyatone model existed as well.

    Here is my 1967 Conrad 40177 violin bass. I got it off of eBay. It was kind of a Cinderella piece-filthy dirty, badly strung. It polished up beautifully and, after a new set of Rotosound medium scale flat wound strings, it turned out to be a beauty!
