They offered to fix but it was easier to return to the retailer as it was brand new. It was definitely not caused by grounding issues in the house.

I got the Plex to use when practicing (just active bass + headphones + Plex) and to use as a DI for recording. Since the first minute of testing, there has been a very noticeable buzzing noise. If I touch any metal on the Plex itself the hum goes away. Same thing goes if I touch anything...
