It’s the only bass I’ve ever had or really ever wanted or needed. Just feels so right in the hands. A “Normal” P-Bass to means is too clunky and the neck isn’t as fast. I’m sure you can get one if your on the lookout.

It’s funny because when you google “fender precision special” no Cowpokes come up. Lol. I found a thread just before finding this thread (same day) and they mentioned you and Dave naming this bass, and that was 20 years ago (they said) and here I am taking to the man who co-named it. Really...

That’s great! Didn’t even know their own catalog lol. From what I read this bass wasn’t common for the production techniques of Mexico for the time. Would you agree with that. I was only buying a bass for home recording and some demos (and to jam with a friends band)and was gonna just buy a cort or...

I was browsing all things Fender “Cowpoke” today since I found this thread, 26 years of being in the dark about my bass, and I found it funny that Guitar Center uses the “Cowpoke” name when selling used. This bass really feels like no other. A regular P-Bass never felt right in my hands after...

I’m so glad I found this thread. I been playing a Cowpoke since 1995 and bought it brand new (it’s a 1994) with the “brown” sunburst. Still my main bass 26 later and played many gigs with it. Incredible bass. I never knew what it was and couldn’t find anything for years. I knew it had the duel...
