    Need a new poweramp

Thanks for the response, very insightful! How do I check the POD has enough power? The pedal has bi-amp features etc so I'm guessing it was made with this in mind? Is there a particular specification I'm looking for? One of the reasons I want 2 volume knobs at the front is so I can easily...

    Need a new poweramp

First of all NO, THAT BIG BEN IS MINE :bassist: Thanks for the suggestions, I always forget just how much gear Carvin actually makes! What about this one? [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Would that be matched well with the cabinets I have? Quick question about power amp impedance too. If I...

    Need a new poweramp

Hi first of all and thanks for reading. My Peavey Tour 700 is starting to give up I think and I've decided to make a slight change to my setup. I have a bass POD XT Live so I thought of just getting my hands on a power amp because it's potentially cheaper and lighter than my Peavey whichi was...

    Looking for Power Amp!

Colonel Monk: I'm surprised how no one has said anything negative towards my idea yet. On the Warwick forum the only answers I seemed to receive were along the lines of "waste of money, no real difference, not worth trying". That was rather defeating, being ridiculed a bit for wanting to...

    Looking for Power Amp!

Thanks for the quick and helpful responses, that's cleared up a few things right away! Would 400W per side be overkill for the 2x10? I guess in the end it will only clip/damage the driver if I turn the 2x10 channel up too far right?

    Looking for Power Amp!

Hi everyone! I own a Line 6 Bass Pod XT Live with a built in crossover and am looking to buy a 2 channel power amp to bi-amp my 2x10 cabinet and 1x18 cabinet. Now one of the first questions: What wattage region would you recommend? The 2x10 ashdown draws around 200W @ 8 ohm and the SWR 1x18...

    Bi-amping

That sounds pretty good Oobly! Wont the 440W be too much for the 2x10 though? I've looked at 2-channel amps but always figured if its enough for the 2x15 it will be too much for the 2x10! Edit: The Line 6 offers 2 line leve outputs! I have no idea about power amps though :P

    Bi-amping

The 2x10 just starts distorting before the 2x15. I don't want to damage the 2x10 by overpowering it so I want to get an amp thats just right for it. Also want to experiment with keeping one channel clean and running all the effects through just one of them.

    Bi-amping

I want that 2x15 to handle the low B string from my warwick with some headroom! Been struggling to find something that would make the 2x15 sweat a bit :P Been looking at ampegs to power the 2x15 and probably just a solid state for the 2x10. Thoughts?

    Bi-amping

Hey guys! I've been wanting to experiment with bi-amping for a while and now I finally have the money :D I currently run a Peavey Tour 700 amp into a 2x15 trace elliot, around 500 watts, and a 2x10 ashdown cab, about 250 watts both rated at 8 ohm impedance. Basically I want to amplify...

    EQ Rack unit

The 2x15 has no horn, just the 2x10! The load is fine, both cabs are 8 ohm and are in parallel with the amp which delivers 700 watts at 4 ohms.

    EQ Rack unit

Thanks for the quick reply! That's a shame, I only have 1 effects loop and the point was to have 31band eq for each cab seperately. But I suppose even if I use it to EQ the overall sound it will give me much more freedom than a 9 band EQ!

    EQ Rack unit

Hi, I'm running a Peavey Tour 700 through a Trace Elliot 2x15 cab and an ashdown 2x10+tweeter cab. My question is: I have a spare 2 channel 31band eq unit with xlr inputs/outputs. Can I hook the EQ up between the amps and the cabs to give me more power over the sound? Thanks in advance!
