Looks like one of the silliest theories is going mainstream: https://apnews.com/article/work-music-432-hertz-grounded-focus-118fb793c1963239ea1a4fcab079b2a0 Frankly, I think we should look into the mystical properties of A=220 and A=880 as well.

Getting the tone right should only take about 30 seconds though. There have been a few times where I simply haven’t had the time to adjust knobs because everything was going sideways - that’s when right hand technique and the volume and tone (or filter) knob on the bass needs to rule the day...

Just focus on learning the solo from Freebird in a variety of keys, and then sprinkle bits of the solo throughout the service.

Can we stop pretending the Fender lawsuit will change anything?

Was sick last week, missed service. This week WL was sick, and so it ended up being me on guitar and a member of the congregation agreed to sing. Songs were chosen around 9:15-9:20 and service began just after 10. Nobody died, so it all went off well enough!

When it comes to alcohol, what % are you using? Apparently 70% is better for disinfecting than 90%+ because it takes long to evaporate, but the flip side is that with electronics, 90%+ can be better because there is less water and thus faster evaporation.

The YouTube served up this interesting gem this morning. Wish we had enough musicians to pull it off…

All the various effects/etc. aren’t really part of the song - they’re part of the performance. Same as the other tech. The songs don’t require any of it unless one is trying to duplicate the sound of the recording — but at the heart of it, you still have songs that are intended to be...

Most of it ain’t rocket science. You can choose to make it harder, and you can also choose to make it even easier. Remember that many of these songs are intended to be played by amateurs at church as part of the business model.

With as crazy as the weather fluctuations are, I think I’m going to wait until mid week at earliest to tweak the truss rods. Probably didn’t help that we had to decide between having heat or AC on while we were out of town, and ended up going with heat because getting a little warm isn’t as...

High correlation between attendance and cake at our church. Therefore, mention there’ll be cake the following weekends.

Discovered my truss rods had shifted while tuning up today. Things were fine open and at the octave, but fourth and fifth frets were noticeably sharp. I could actually do the whole “flex the neck” to bring the note to pitch, but that wasn’t really the workable solution..so I was just...

Made it back, but the drive took a few more hours than expected due to horrible traffic. Recovering well enough, but missing the days when I owned a Volvo. Nobody makes a better seat than them, and I love the fact that they care enough to proactively work towards beating safety standards that...
