    Yes the H from my understanding means nothing as far as year. 6 "digits" were used in the 70's and 7 in the 80's. SB series started in 78 I believe. I got it in 77 so I'm sticking with 76 for now. Thanks for responding.

    I got it in late 77', but from other sources the first number 7 means 70's and the second number is year. So 76 is probably correct. It was brand new when I got it from the local guitar shop in Knoxville Tennessee called Lynn's guitars. Wish they had kept better records over the years.

    Also my understanding was the professional bass logo was only in 76. I received it has a Christmas present in December of 77'
