I downloaded the schematic for the OBP-3, and it does not show the "vintage" tone circuit. My understanding is the mid knob will act like a passive "fender" tone knob when the active circuit is out. I looked in the wiring cavity, and it looks like spaghetti...I dont think a pic would help..

I have a LP bass that looks just like yours. Mine has the humbuckers that are made for the Thunderbird bass, and it is wired up just like a LP guitar. It has the best definition of tone. The bridge pickup is jazzier than most fenders.... just sayin... Some of the earlier production models...
