Who only uses 1 or 2 effects with a band?

Like to keep it small and simple after building pedal boards that Bootsy Collins would even like. Now it’s a micro poly tuner, Mr Boost, adjustable high pass filter( Broughton), and a micro Sonic Stomp. . . all on , almost 90% of the time. Nothing excessive, but tweaked enough to round out the...

Saying goodbye to the world of Ampeg SVT's

Hey Jimmy M . . . you have plenty of company. Also got rid of the heavies ( Ampeg tube pre, subharmonic syth, compressor, sonic conditioner, and Crown pwr amp rack+ two stacked 4-10cabs ) and now using Mesa 800+ into Acme B 2x10 . Doesn’t shake my pant legs when standing in front of it, but my...

Hartke: Why Do Musicians Use It?

No issues with my Hartke HyDrive 112 cabs paired up with a Mesa subway D-800+. Can get all the tone dialed in with punchy lows from the ‘B’ string. And what is an added bonas is the dual voice coil making it possible to select 4 or 8 ohm impedance possible for many combinations of speaker...

Show of hands... anyone never or not own a Pbass?

I have a’61 P Bass and love the tone, balance, and buttery resonance I get playing through a B-15 Ampeg. Nothing comes close- so yes the vintage P-Basses kicks ass!

    Active Electronics ... Important?

Passive is my go to for a vintage sounds, but love active for a modern sound which has an excellent advantage of eq-ing Bass tone without having to mess with your amp ( great for playing medleys and quick changes) over a passive bass. A must for 5ers.

I finally got a vintage Jazz Bass

That bottom cover was usually removed and used as an ashtray and would sit atop your amp. So now you know what to do with it. Would go good with the amp!

Poll: what kind of music do you play?

Choose other: playing original music is where it’s at for me. More room to be creative playing my own bass lines and not copying someone else. Nothing but total freedom so what’s not to like?
