Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass Appreciation Thread

I have mixed ideas about this. I got mine because it was supposed to be as close a replica of my birth year ‘63, and the reviews around it were all positive. I don’t want to spend what it would take to get a real ’63. The consensus is that it’s a very good “replica”. That’s its perceived...

Fender American Vintage '63 Precision Bass Appreciation Thread

I have a '63 as well in Daphne blue, and it's a substitute for my birth-year bass. I'm likely never going to drop the $ for a real one, and the odds of one coming to market in this color are probably never. If it's a lifetime bass and you're not worried about the value, I would do whatever...

2020 Geddy Lee Fender Jazz Bass sounds dead and weak

Couldn't agree more with @GeddyleelsNotM (sh*t that's a lot to type). I have a set of TB's in my mine and with push from the YYZ pedal, I'm in Tom Sawyer heaven!

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

I stand corrected. I dropped off the last digit when I copied the SN's. It didn't sound right to me at the time, but I went with the website info. The TT is a 2019 and the VM Riedel is a 2023. My first Sanderg was a Roquefort blue TM that I picked up around 2018, which I would love to buy back.

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

Even close up, it's hard to tell it's two pieces. The black aged hardware on these Oliver Riedel's is very cool.

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

Because I couldn't recall when I got my basses, you prompted me to go back to Sandberg to run the SN's. The TT is from 2006 and the VM is from 2008.

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

[/MEDIA] My apologies if it came across as negative; a couple of switches can't diminish the amazing playability of these basses. Basses are personal, and get personalized. It could be a very cool mod! And thanks to the VeryTallBassist for pointing out that older models had a single-piece...

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

I have a master built TT, and an Oliver Riedel VM, which is active/passive (push/pull). I regretfully sold my TM a few years back. If I'm honest with myself, these two will likely be amongst the last to go out of a solid collection. Absolutely love the feel and tone of Sandbergs. In my years...

    Leather Pickguards?

Seconding @ ih8law. I ordered a custom one off Etsy for my butterscotch P and didn't account for needing something rigid underneath. After I glued it down to the original guard it felt a bit thick, but looked the part. It's a great look for a country vibe, just make sure you source one with a...

    Any string swing owners?

I've been very happy with my String Wing. It's versatile and supports my stupid amount of money in basses. I can't answer whether it works with a standard slat wall, but their system is affordable. My bass holders do not have that tab, and I wish they did, as it would make them even more...

Blood Sweat and Tears - Midnight Special - Ampeg Stack??

Wow! Thånks for an evening of entertainment. We were living in Asia in the mid-70s, and I would have to go down to the market and sort through mainly British rock albums, and the shop owner would make me cassettes. I could rarely buy the album because they could copy it multiple times. My...

Blood Sweat and Tears - Midnight Special - Ampeg Stack??

Thanks @Michedelic for posting that vid! Takes me back to 8-tracks and high school, when I was catching up on great music. I missed the incarnation bus by about ten years, but damn, that was a golden decade of music.

Micro Practice Bass Combos - Phil Jones Bass X4C Nanobass vs. Alternatives

Adding another nod to the PJB Nanobass. I have three different PJB setups, and for a micro footprint, it checks all your boxes with top-shelf quality and tonal clarity. I added a tube pedal to warm it up, but it's great right out of the box. The Bluetooth connectivity to your phone lets you...

    Jule Amps Simone

I've since reconfigured that board (can't seem to leave well enough alone), but it was a wonderful setup. I didn't compromise anywhere. If I recall it correctly, the signal chain is in order of the pedal layout. Starts with the Peterson tuner, into the Cali compressor, the Bassrig, Simone...
