Ok, I will answer my own question, in case anyone has the same issue. Allen was stripped because the thread depth on a factory G&L nut is about half what an OEM fender nut is. You can use the bullet fender part (#099-4945-000) but the AM Standard nut is a better fit (#099-4943-000). Works way...

Does anyone know if the bullet style nut is the same as the standard fender nut? 1 inch long, .125 allen key, 10-32 thread. It appears the previous owner of my bass has managed to strip out the allen key socket, how I couldnt tell you. No info on the G&L site. Thanks
