Never realy thought thay much about tones... just if you was to use 2 volume controls (1 for each pup) surely you could get some original sounds from a "distortion" and more normal pup with blend options?

Just lookin for something with a bit more of everything and something if you get what I mean the stock pickups arnt inherently aweful just I think I can do alot better and got wondering about what to put in it and since I like the overdriven sound I wondered about them kinds of pups

i agree the emg hb pickups seem like a good option, however the tv jones pickups seem to have really low output, even when compared to another bass pickup such as an emg hb. What about not so distortion inclined guitar pickups like a dimarzio x2n, as i still has a very high output?

well in response to mmbongo u have more choice if you use guitar pickups... just check pickup websites such as dimarzio and seymore duncan and they can be cheaper - a dp100 is about $100 whereas a Bartolini CB Guitar Shape Humbucker is over $300 and i like having that choice. in response to...

thanks for the advice after some searching i found that you can still get the X2N-B DP-125 and i was looking at the "distortion" pickups for the high output and a dp100 is one of the highest and only beaten by a few one of which is the X2N and like Clammy i also like to play and listen to a bass...

the reason im looking at guitar pickups is because (i think) that that is all my bass can take if you look at the pictures in the thread i linked originally cause most if not all bass humbuckers are soap bars (which i dont think will fit.... unless someone can tell me otherwise) or the ones that...

have you tried using the pedals on completely separate power supplys or use them both on batteries and see if the noise goes away could be a ground loop hum :hiding:

I measured the string width to be a fraction over 2.0 inches so they can take normal guitar pickups and I was just realy looking for more out of the cheap pickups in it as they sound like tin foil wraped around not copper lol and with this it got me thinking to distortion pickups and higher...
