I never use a click track and i think my timing is one of my strengths (though I'm more Sid Vicious level than Jaco Pastorius)... I thought Sgt Pepper was recorded just on a four track. I know about how the Beatles, or maybe, rather, George Martin, did Strawberry Fields, but the timing on that...

I don't mind songs speeding up with an enthusiastic band, other errors etc. In fact, I wish more mistakes were left in songs like they used to be in the 60s. I love the song as well... Just couldn't put my finger on why it sounded kind of wonky.
