warm OD preamp: Vintage Microtubes or Tech 21 Bass Driver DI v2 ?

I just picked up a BDDI V2 to try out for a few weeks. First impression: -I preferred it to the VT Bass, which I found felt more like a distortion pedal than a preamp/Tube OD. -The mid controls are excellent to have (the lack of mid control was main reason I had avoided the BDDI in the past)...

Fuzz (and other effects) going into a Sansamp/SCR-DI?

I am currently leaning towards the BDDI v.2, but will likely try both in addition to the Tone Hammer. Glad you like the sound of fuzz into the Sans, I was just using the muff as an example, but its good to know peoples preferences going into testing. Thanks!

Great! Thanks for clarifying! You're the man!

Fuzz (and other effects) going into a Sansamp/SCR-DI?

Thanks for the reply Jimmy! To clarify, would the Sans/SCR roll of the harsh highs created by the effect going into the Sans/SCR (i.e Muff Fuzz) that would otherwise be prominent in a "regular" DI? Thanks!

Fuzz (and other effects) going into a Sansamp/SCR-DI?

Hey guys, I'm on the market to buy either a Sansamp or SCR-DI. For all the owners of either out there, what are your experiences running fuzz/distortion (and/or other effects) into your Sans/SCR and taking the line out to FOH? I'm not interested in how the effects sound together, but rather how...

    Easy Compressor for live rig

Another vote for Diamond. Got mine about a year ago and I haven't looked back. It adds a certain sweetness characteristic to the sound. Hard to explain, but not complaining! And three knobs makes for a super easy, always-on pedal for me.

For Empress Heavy and Multidrive Owners

I have the MultiDrive and absolutely love it. I'd use the word 'organic' to describe the sound. The fuzz, distortion and OD sound really natural to me. Not digital at all. The blending and filtering options are endless and the EQ section is clutch for keeping the big bass booty in the mix. I...

    A question out of curiosity

I've used a TU-2 for the last 7 years and it's been solid (knock on wood). Had the OC-2, loved it. Had an ODB-3, it was ok...more of a sizzling fuzzy thing than an overdrive. Heard lots of great things about the Line Selector, Harmonist, CS-2 and the Delays. I think Boss does a good job of...

Avalon U5 vs Eclair Evil Twin

I used an Evil Twin in the studio last spring and it was by far the best sounding DI I have ever heard. Very organic. That being said I don't have any experience with the other 2 competitors. I honestly think you'll be happy with any of them.
