I was looking for the same and something a little different sounding than my Spectors. I picked up a Sub ray4 and liked it so much I just picked up a ray5. Their built better and sound better than a $300 bass should. No neck / build issues here and I'm picky about that. The body wood is way...

Generally their all a medium fret, some of the legends use a std jumbo fret, and I have seen a few taller frets on some basses. I like the std low med fret myself. Lakeland and ding wall use banjo frets which are pretty cool too.

Can anyone tell me what a 89 Spector guitar ( not bass) goes for? Carved body, NT with non original pickups in good shape? Looking at adding something special to the collection.
