    SVT-VR vs Mesa Prodigy

I would never, never, ever, ever trade a svt vr for anything. I have a new vr (1 month old) and have a classic 810(SLM ver) and nothing sounds like it. I also own a Mesa Basis M2000 and while it has a good sound it is not as good as a classic SVT or VR. I've have an SVT pro4 and it was the...

Ampeg SVT-4 PRO cold and sterile

I own one of those SVT 4 PROs and it kicks butt. Not cold and sterile, but not everyone likes them. Way better tone than the M-2000 I have and twice the power.

After seeing the inside of my Mesa M2000....

I own this amp and also an SVT 4 Pro. The SVT is much better, for a similar price. The M2000's solid state side isn't bad, but the tube side is way to muddy on the low end. The SVT is very clear across the sound spectrum and delivers tons of low end.

Mesa Boogie Basis M2000! Good buy?

So if you wanna know anything about it let me know. Bought it for $320 bucks on Ebay. Sent it back to the factory and they fixed any issues it had for another 300 dollars. Since it cost $1300 new in the 90s I consider the cost reasonable. Don't spend over 500-600 dollars.

    Flatwounds For Funk?

You might want to try GHS PressureWounds. I use them on my 78' Musicmaster. They are brighter than flats but still give most of the flatwound sound. I use them to tone down the brightness on the Musicmaster and bring more of the low end out.

420 at practice - at what point do you tell somebody?

So true! Amen to that! I've seen it slow down hyperactive drummers to a respectable speed.

    Official Fender MIJ/CIJ club here!

If it is a Jazz Special then it has a jazz neck. The body is definitely a Jazz Special body though. I own an 87 of both the Jazz Special and the Power Jazz Special. Link Removed

Active "Power Jazz Bass Special" (Fender)

Hi guys! I just wanted to get in to the discussion and show off my two MIJ Jazz Specials. Also, throw my cents in on what is considered a Duff Mckegan Bass. I happen to own both an 87' Power Jazz Special and an 87' Jazz Special as shown below: Link Removed It was the Jazz Special that...

I figured something has to be wrong here. But I am not from FLA. From OH. I think they have contacts in a few areas. I live about an hour away from the place. My problem is that if they could do something for us and thought we were that good, they wouldn't they pay for the whole thing? You know...

Is this place legit? Here is the body of the email: The best way I can probably describe what it is we do and what we're about is two main categories: 1) Representation. One of the most obvious ways we work is connecting artist with record labels. Of course, there are many facets that come into...

    P basses with slim necks?

You are referring to the 80's MIJ Jazz Special. They are "Duff McKegan" basses remade now for about $1000 dollars new. P/J config with a jazz neck. Wonderful basses with a wide tonal range. I also own a Power Jazz Special with active electronics. Both are 85's. You can get them on ebay for...
