Esp/Ltd make some surprisingly solid and versatile basses. I've personally owned two B-series, and the nut width for a 5-string is 43mm, if I recall correctly, so vertical stretch would be comparable to a 4-string, just with less space between the strings. The thin U-profile is a bit too thin...
