    Why short scale?

    Other than hand injuries and small hands, what is the appeal of short scale basses? Good Tone is obviously subjective, but I’ve never heard a short scale bass and gone “that’s a sound that is good and fits the song well and can be heard.” Is it more friendly to certain styles of music?
