I use the rotary switch. It lives on setting #2, but I use #4 on occasion. I stayed away from the odds; #’s 1, 3, and 5. 1 and 5 gave a little too pronounced low end and mids. (respectively). I never used a footswitch with the magnificent M9. I don’t think a continuous rotary voicing control...
